Episode 17: Perspective
Taylor and Cathy explore perspective and how it relates to the 5 areas of EQ (Emotional Intelligence). They explore how each color embodies and interacts with perspective in different ways. Yellows tend to have the easiest time with perspective and change.
1) Food for Thought: What are your struggles that were imposed on you, and what are those that you have created yourself. What is your role in overcoming them?
2) When communicating, utilize active listening (Rogerian Therapy). Let the other person speak then check for understanding using the phrase, “here is what I heard you say.” Then, allow them agree or disagree with your understanding and then clarify if needed. Making sure to understand what they are saying before reacting or responding is the goal.
